Apparently Slipknot has canceled some of their upcoming gigs as their drummer Joey Jordison’s illness. The musician should be back on track soon but we shouldn’t expect any shows in the near future as whole August and September have been dropped. We hope that Joey will come back to his form soon so the band could re-start touring the world.
In the meantime their new re-release of the first album in special 10th anniversary edition pack is available to buy in your local stores and online of course.
Corey Taylor will be join us soon alongside of Stone Sour on few upcoming gigs. Stay tuned for more info!

The new Nickelback’s single has been released with a brand new video on AOLMusic. Their latest release, “Dark Horse” is a good smash and grab among rock artists, so finally our patience has been awarded with this explosive video clip. New album is on sale at Amazon, iTunes and AOL Music, but you can also grab it from your local music store.
Video has been released yesterday and it’s available widely from Noisecreep. On the new album they hired Robert “Mutt” Lange to sit in the producers chair. This legend of sound has produce for stars like Def Leppard, AC/DC etc. Surely Nickelback loves their ’80’s style rock!

Yesterday the group spokesman announced that the Oasis are pulling out of the V Festival due to Mick Gallagher’s viral laryngitis. It seems that the black clouds have gathered over the band heads as there are rumors going around that this might be their last show in the UK. They are suppose to reunite at the end of the month for Paris Show (28.08.09), but musician’s blog entries are proving that they are not entirely enjoying their shows. As well one of the brothers mentioned:
He doesn’t like me and I don’t like him, that’s it.
This was just a response to the questions about how they get along. Apparently they don’t even travel together anymore. Stay tuned for more details!

The Time Magazine released a list compiled by music critic Josh Tyrangiel, which contains the best guitar players ever. Among the candidates to the crown were well known personas, such as: Jimmy Page, B B King, Yngwie Malmsteen or Slash. But Hendrix beat them all with his fusion of blues, rock and progressive guitar riffs that gave many young people a kickstart to become great guitarists themselves.
Also Slash who took the second position was mentioned as a very precise player. Keith Richards who was placed as 4th best guitar player has gained a remarkably good position with his incredibly popular riffs that he wrote more than anyone else in the world.
We are surprised that there is no sign of great modern players such as Joe Satriani or John Petrucci (Dream Theater), who also deserve a piece of this important cake and have done remarkable thing with their axes. Satriani alone reinvented modern blues-rock fusion and taught many well known guitarists like: Steve Vai or Kirk Hammet.
The full list of the greatest guitarist ever goes like this:
01. Jimi Hendrix
02. Slash
03. B.B. King
04. Keith Richards
05. Eric Clapton
06. Jimmy Page
07. Chuck Berry
08. Les Paul
09. Yngwie Malmsteen
10. Prince

Muse will be coming back home on September 4th & 5th to Teignbridge Den. They had to be give a go by the local council and are on the strict policy (for example the loudness of the music must not exceed 84.1 decibels. The bassist of Muse mention that his very excited about playing there as this will be something different to the radio session or a London gig. He said that this will be their proud moment and should show people what they have achieved during last 12 years.
We will want to give something back to the community – maybe a youth organisation – but we have got to look at that in more detail.
Fans can grab their tickets starting from tomorrow (21st of August) so take your place in the queue!

Incredible frontman of AC/DC is thinking about leaving the band:
“We were talking about the end of the tour and I said, ‘We’re finishing in May and that’s me done!’” he says. “But Malcolm [Young, rhythm guitarist] said, ‘What are you talkin’ about? We’re not gonna let you retire!’ And now they’re talking about next year. I’m going, ‘What do you mean next year? We’re finishing in May in Japan, I’ll be tired!’ And they said: ‘Well, we’ve been offered some festivals…’”
Despite what he says, recently Brian admitted that he feels incredibly fresh “like 18 year old”. Hopefully he will continue to tour with the band and we’ll see them in the UK soon!

Artists will be able to sell their songs online through the newly created Rock Band Network which will soon hit the X360 and PS3. Musicians will have a chance to reach their fans directly by selling their music as gamefiles that gamers can use in Rock Band video game. Beta of the new platform is scheduled for tests to be performed in August. If this will kick off, we can say that Guitar Hero series and Activision will end up knee-deep in a mud. The money-makers behind Guitar Hero are releasing new games that are basically not evolving, not changing anything and we still have to pay loads for the music that we sometimes don’t like at all. Now the Rock Band which was overwhelmed in the beginning starts to pull up and will definitely knock down GH as they allow us to have freedom of choice what music we want to play.
Good job Harmonix!

Soon in the studio
Recently Sevendust has issued an update with thank you to all their fans for the support and faith in their music. They have added that it’s time to focus on the new material and create something really good. They haven’t decided who to take on board as a producer, but have few names in mind.
The excitement is so huge, that they asked fans for their opinion which album and type of their music they have liked the most throughout Sevendust’s career. This definitely might do some good and the band will be keeping all comments in mind, so they could create something really good.
Personally I hope that they will go back with guitar sound to the first album, especially to the track #1 called “Black” which still kicks butts even now. Let’s wish them luck cause the pressure is on!
The band released a very limited edition of their latest 4 albums in a bundle called “Packaged Goods”; each of the boxes contains “Next” (2005), “Alpha” (2007), “Retrospective 2″ (2007, CD + DVD) and “Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow” (2007), all of them personally autographed by the entire group.
